The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D review was released today at 3 p.m. and the CPU exceeded the expectations of many interested parties. Many users in the have already said they want to buy it for 529 euros from the start of the sales on Thursday, November 7 at 3 p.m. But will there also be merchandise?

German AMD retailer Mindfactory* contradicted rumors that the processor would not be available at launch and shared images of entire processor lines on Twitter.

However, the fact that there are at Mindfactory does not necessarily mean that the processor will also be widely available at other retailers from the start of sales – the relationship between AMD and Mindfactory has been very special for years. This was recently highlighted by the Ryzen 5 7600X3D (review), available only exclusively from Mindfactory.

Mindfactory spoke on Instagram about the “craziest CPU launch ever”, without mentioning what the benchmark is: sales, turnover or perhaps the time between the being put online and the sale? The retailer promises that every customer who ordered a processor from the store will also receive one. And new products are already on the way.

The delivery status at Mindfactory is still “Estimated delivery end of December 2024”, but pre-orders must now pay 20 euros above the recommended price: 549 euros*, even from AMD’s closest commercial partner. Caseking charges 541 euros* without specifying a delivery date. However, cheaper alternatives and laptops no longer mention the processor.

Mindfactory* has not changed the expected delivery status of “end of December”, but is now delivering orders again, even those that were only placed this week.

This is what community members are reporting in the thread of this post. Mindfactory also commented accordingly on Instagram without giving any details. Mindfactory also does not provide any information on the number of units sold; It is quite possible that the objective is not to keep customers but other retailers in the dark about the quantities sold.

Further community feedback on the status of open orders at this and other retailers is always welcome in the comments thread.

After the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was no longer available for a short time in the Mindfactory* online store on Monday, the product page is now back online. Instead of the extra 20 euros on top of the recommended price, the retailer now charges 30 euros more at 559 euros. The delivery date is still “expected for the end of December 2024”, although (also new) buyers have recently been delivered at short notice.

Alternate* does not currently have the processor, Caseking* charges 610 euros – without specifying a delivery date. There is also a gap in the price comparison.

After the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D was again no longer listed on Mindfactory at short notice, the processor is now listed again in the online store with an unchanged delivery date “expected at the end of December 2024” – and the price increased again. Mindfactory now charges 569 euros, which is no longer 10 but 20 euros above the recommended price*. Mindfactory still owes the announced sales figures for all other products.

The price comparison currently lists almost exclusively eBay offers from 705 euros.

Even after the holidays, the availability of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D has changed little. In “free trade”, the CPU is available, if at all, from 700 euros, AMD’s obviously privileged partner, Mindfactory*, still charges 569 euros, an additional 20 euros compared to the UPV. In view of the new year approaching, the expected delivery date is no longer “end of December” but rather “beginning of January”.
