The remastered version was released three and a half years later and was improved and expanded in many places. In addition to better graphics, there is a roguelike survival mode with Lost Levels to explore early development versions of three levels not included in the original, detailed developer commentary, a guitar mode, and new character and weapon skins for Ellie and Abby. Unsurprisingly, all of these additions also feature in the PC adaptation.
