Ugreen has a whole range of new products for CES 2025. In this report, Techconseil first takes a look at the details of the new iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro NAS systems. Ugreen previously announced a new “AI NAS” at IFA 2024, and now there are details on the technology and features.

The iDX models are intended to set a new standard for AI-NAS and have integrated extended language models (LLM). For this, they rely on Core Ultra processors and a lot of memory. Ugreen says the release date will be Q2 to Q3 2025.

However, some technical specifications are already known. The Ugreen iDX6011 offers 32GB of DDR5 and up to 160TB of capacity via six SATA drive bays and two M.2 NVMe slots. M.2 SSDs can again be configured as either main memory or cache. Two 10 Gigabit connections are available for network connection, which can be aggregated up to 20 Gbps via link aggregation. The processor is an Intel Core Ultra 5 with 14 cores and 18 threads with a maximum turbo clock frequency of 4.5 GHz, which is reminiscent of the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H.

The iDX6011 also has a PCIe x8 slot for expansion cards. In this regard, the DXP8800 Plus and DXP6800 Pro (test) each offer a PCIe x4 slot.

Other ports include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB-A ports (2x USB 3 at 10Gbps, 2x USB 2 at 480Mbps), an SD card reader, and an HDMI output.

The iDX6011 Pro NAS system shares all of these features, but also differs in a few ways: the processor, RAM, an additional port, and a display. The iDX6011 Pro relies on a second-generation Intel Core Ultra, which has not yet been specified, offers 64 GB of DDR5 RAM instead of 32 GB and has an additional OCuLink connection. OCuLink stands for “Optical Copper Link” and is an interface for the PCI Express standard. A screen on the front can also show system information, such as disk usage.

Online and offline AI for content and photos

Users should be able to make natural language queries via the NAS’s AI. Depending on the type of question, the NAS will then provide an appropriate answer using either online knowledge or locally stored data. For example, the content of documents stored on the NAS should also be able to be summarized. AI is also used in image recognition to recognize faces, animals, objects or text on them. Photos can also be searched using natural phrases. If the model does not recognize an object, users can train it themselves using example images so that they can find the appropriate content later.

Ugreen will not rely on a new operating system for AI-NAS for the new functions, but will accordingly expand the UGOS Pro known during Ugreen NAS testing.
