Alphacool’s new water coolers for Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 are made of chrome-plated copper. Both the transparent Core series and the compact Enterprise version with 1-slot design are available. Prices start at 200 euros. Some models from Asus, MSI, Palit, Inno3D and Gainward are supported.

Just in time for the release of the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards, Alphacool is launching two new heatsinks including a backplate for anyone looking to integrate the new graphics cards into their water cooling system. Core series and Enterprise variant coolers for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 support various models from Gainward, Palit, Inno3D as well as ROG Strix and TUF Gaming models from Asus as well as Gaming and Suprim models from MSI .

The cooler is made of copper, which is now chrome plated and not nickel plated. It is said to appear brighter, smoother and more durable than nickel plating. A new design aims to ensure better cooling performance, which led to a modified radiator base and a new nozzle through fluid dynamics calculations and practical tests. Visually, however, the Core series hardly changes; a transparent body is always used. The main emblem is now positioned in the middle above the jetplate.
Corporate variant
The basic cooler series is supplemented by models called Enterprise variants from Alphacool, which will also be available for the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090. These coolers are designed for multi-graphics card configurations, for example in workstations or server cases. The design is as compact as possible and only requires one slot. Pricing and release
Both coolers of the Core series are sold with a backplate, thermal paste and mounting hardware for around 200 euros. The 1-slot design of the Enterprise version requires 50% more financial will and changes hands for around 300 euros. Sales of Alphacool coolers will begin at the same time as the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 on January 30, 2025. However, Alphacool states that not all coolers can be ordered directly from stock for all graphics cards; for some, only pre-ordering is possible.
