CB-Funk: The new episode
As expected, Nvidia introduced the GeForce RTX 50 series at CES 2025 along with the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 for desktops and laptops. In the last 24 hours, no piece of content has received as many views and comments as the presentation – by far. But what did Nvidia actually show?
Jan and Fabian analyze what is already known or unknown about the new generation and, in addition to considerations more or less based on rasterizer performance, also discuss DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and Reflex 2 with Frame Warp. According to first impressions obtained under conditions controlled by Nvidia, the software updates are promising.
Nvidia’s idea leaves many questions unanswered. AMD, in turn, shot the bird and completely forewent a presentation of the new RDNA 4 Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards in the live stream. However, some information available in advance to the press encouraged speculation. Therefore, Jan and Fabian hire precisely these people. And then there’s FSR 4 with AI oversampling.
The last topic concerns the numerous presentations of OLED displays at CES: Finally, and to Fabian’s delight, UHD monitors with OLED panels and high refresh rates are now also available in 27 inches – almost at least.
