“RTX 5090 Ti” or RTX 6000 Blackwell? : The prototype with GB202 uses twice 12V-2×6 for 800 watts TDP 66 comments

Here we go again: even before the GeForce RTX 5090 hits the market on January 30, rumors about a GeForce RTX 5090 Ti with a full GB202 configuration and a TDP of 800 watts are circulating. The basis: the alleged photo of a prototype. Such a model never appeared in the last generation – despite interesting prototypes.
“RTX 5090 Ti”/”Titan RTX Blackwell”/”RTX 6000 Blackwell”?
The photo and information about a current prototype appeared again on the Chinese industry forum Chiphell, and user X HXL pointed it out. The photo shows a PCB with a “GB202-200-A1” GPU and two 12V 2×6 power connectors for theoretically up to 1200 watts, of which the graphics card should be able to access 800 instead of 575 watts on the GeForce RTX 5090.
GB202 in full use in use?
With 24,576 shaders, the GB202-200-AI GPU is said to offer 192 active streaming multiprocessors, which was previously rumored to be a full expansion of the GB202 chip. The storage should still offer a capacity of 32 GB, but will exceed the 2 TB/s mark at 32 Gbps instead of 28 Gbps.
The table below compares key data from the prototype with key data from the RTX 5090 and RTX 4090.

But a professional model?
However, it is currently unlikely that there will be another GeForce or Titan behind the prototype. On the contrary, future Nvidia RTX graphics cards for the professional segment, such as an Nvidia RTX 6000 “Blackwell”, could be behind it – even if the final hardware would then have to offer at least 48 GB of GDDR7 in order to at least reach the capacity of its predecessor. This would be possible if this version had 16 GDDR7 components of three GB, as is currently the case exclusively with the GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU from GeForce.
The Nvidia RTX 6000 “Ada” with 48 GB is currently the top model in this series.
