While detailed testing of the GeForce RTX 5080 is still awaited, there is another indication of the performance level. In the Blender benchmark database, the RTX 5080 scored a solid 9,000 points and only beats an RTX 4080 by 9%. Other results remain to be seen.

First result with RTX 5080 in Blender benchmark

To be precise, 9,063.77 points is the first and only entry of the GeForce RTX 5080 in the Blender benchmark, which will be launched on January 30 with the (test).

If we compare this value to the GeForce RTX 4080 average of around 8,280 points, then the GeForce RTX 5080 is 9% ahead. The slightly faster GeForce RTX 4080 Super (8,375 points) would still be beaten by 8 percent. On average, an RTX 4090 scores 21% more points and the RTX 5090 currently has a 64% lead over the RTX 5080, which is an extremely significant lead.

However, the ranking has its pitfalls, because while hundreds of results from predecessors already form a meaningful average value, the RTX 5080 only has this one value, which does not necessarily have to be representative.

RTX 5090 35% faster than RTX 4090

A first Blender result had also appeared in advance for the GeForce RTX 5090, but this turned out to be plausible, because the huge advantage of 36 percent also results from the other average measurements now available. When comparing, one should pay particular attention to the version of the benchmark used. For example, an RTX 4090 scores an average of 13,000 points in Blender 3.6.0, but with the newer Blender 4.3.0 it is only around 11,000 points. The result for the RTX 5080 is based on Blender 4.3.0.

Detailed tests expected soon

A more detailed picture of the performance of the GeForce RTX 5080 will probably be available in the coming week, as the tests are expected to be published from January 29th. Sales will start a day later at the recommended price of 1,169 euros. However, limited availability is expected at market launch.
