About eight weeks before the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has announced the first expansion, “Claws of Awaji”. Ubisoft promises ten hours of additional content for this add-on. A treasure is found on the mysterious island of Awaji. A new weapon is promised for Naoe.

The expansion is called “Claws of Awaji”. It is developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux. Ubisoft studio recently worked on Assassin’s Creed Mirage (in testing). The expansion introduces a new region, a mysterious island called Awaji, located off the coast of Osaka Bay. Ubisoft promises new skills, weapons, and, for Naoe, a new weapon type, the Bou. The expansion is expected to offer around ten hours of additional gameplay fun. A lost and mysterious treasure lies on the island.

New faction and dangers

While searching for the treasure, Naoe and Yasuke encounter a new enemy faction on the island called Sanzoku Ippa. She has no interest in the treasure in the hands of the two and will hunt them, so the two await traps and ambushes. Ubisoft says that the roles on Awaji will be swapped and the player will have to switch from hunter to the role of the hunted.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on March 20 for PC on the Steam Store, Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store, as well as for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X. Those who pre-order any version will receive Awaji’s expansion claws and the bonus quest “A Dog’s Life” for free. For everyone, the addon will be billable. Ubisoft has not yet announced pricing for Awaji’s Claws. The expansion is expected to appear later this year, but will not be available at the time of release.
