Amazon: product presentation at the end of February could bring new Alexa 17 reviews

Amazon has announced a product performance in New York for February 26, on which Panos Panay will show innovations. Amazon should finally present a more powerful variant of the Alexa voice assistant, for which there could also be a payment model.
Panos Panay moved from Microsoft to Amazon in fall 2023. He will present innovations from Amazon’s Amazon Devices & Services division, responsible for Alexa, Echo, Fire TV and Kindle. After the Kindle event in New York, this is also the first major event he will lead at Amazon since his move. He replaced Dave Limp as head of Amazon devices and services.
Connect Old and New Alexa
Amazon has been working on big changes to the Alexa digital voice assistant for some time. In addition to a subscription model, Alexa should primarily receive many new possibilities and functions via generative AI. Persistent technical challenges recently postponed the market launch planned for the end of 2024. The company had therefore abandoned the Alexa event, which usually takes place in autumn, at which innovations around Alexa and Amazon’s Echo speakers are presented. Amazon publicly announced the new Alexa during this event in September 2023.
However, one of the biggest problems would have been that Alexa offers all the previous functions of at least the same quality, in particular reliable smart home control through language, but also offers the possibilities of current AI systems without incorrect, to give deceptions or hallucinations the responses.
With the invitations Amazon has now sent out on February 26, these issues could have been resolved and the announcement was imminent.
When did Germany begin?
It is still open whether the AIA version of Alexa initially starts only in the USA or English-speaking countries and in Germany, the introduction of the new voice model has to be waited even longer.
