2K and 5 GHz WLAN video
The camera supports 2K videos with HDR at 30fps and allows 16x digital zoom. H.264 is used as the video code, the field of view is 130 degrees. Two beamform microphones allow two-way communication so you can talk to the app and the camera. For Internet connection, WLAN is supported with 2.4 and 5 GHz, through which two antennas are supposed to improve the connection.
Be like smart home platforms Apple Home, Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video is no longer supported to open the camera for other platforms. Cross-vendor smart home standard material is also not supported.

No cloud, local recordings
As already mentioned at the beginning, the camera recordings are not uploaded to a manufacturer’s cloud, but are encrypted on a microSD card directly in the camera. However, users can upload their videos from the app or save to an FTP server or the cloud, which they can determine themselves.
Improved passenger and animal detection
The indoor camera advance provides personal and pet recognition so that objects can be distinguished from humans and animals. In the case of person recognition, an enhancement of facial recognition with the local AI model is also used – user data is also uploaded to this. The camera can distinguish between known and unknown people and trigger an alarm if an unknown user, who is not stored in the system, is recognized. Based on known persons that the user must determine in the app and can be provided with a name, data protection mode can also be activated automatically so that no more recordings are made as soon as a known person is at home.
Pricing and availability
The Netatmo indoor camera advance will be available in both white and black colors from February 19, it costs 249.99 euros.
NetAtmo justifies the price over other cameras with the fact that they may be cheaper to purchase, but require purchasing a subscription, making them more expensive as the Netatmo indoor camera progresses over the term. Using the NetAtmo camera does not require any subscription.
In addition to the power supply, an adapter is included in the scope of delivery of the Netatmo indoor camera advance, which can also be used for configuration and for wall mounting. For power, NetAtmo surprisingly relies on micro-USB instead of USB-C, because according to the manufacturer, this allows for a smaller design. A POE adapter can possibly be purchased for 50 euros.
