Amazon establishes its own app store on Android on August 20. As of today, Amazon parts can no longer be purchased. Applications downloaded from the Amazon Appstore could no longer function correctly. For example, the AppStore is preserved on Fire TV and Tablet devices.
In 6 months will be finished
As Amazon writes in its own FAQ, users no longer have access to the Amazon Appstore on Android devices from August 20, 2025. Due to the lack of updates, the apps could no longer work properly. As of today, Amazon parts can no longer be purchased. Amazon Coins are used to make purchases in certain apps and in-app purchases in the Amazon Appstore. Already acquired Amazon coins can be used until August 20, 2025. If you no longer want to invest the already acquired coins in view of the closure of the App Store, you can also leave them in your own account. Any purchased coins that remain on the account after August 20, 2025 will then be refunded by Amazon. Amazon would like to announce more details on refunds at a later date.
Manage and cancel current subscriptions
In order to manage current and, if necessary, canceled Appstore subscriptions, users can use the Amazon App Store application or do so directly through the Amazon website even without an Android smartphone with Appstore installed.
Amazon Appstore started 13 years ago
The Amazon Appstore is closing its doors again almost 13 years after moving to Germany. Amazon had the competitor Google Play, which is less on Android smartphones than on its own Firetabets, due to a lack of Play Store for many customers, on March 22, 2011 in the USA and August 30, 2012 in Europe started. The AppStore is now discontinued not only in Germany, but worldwide.
