The Philips Hue Sync TV app has been available for Samsung Smart TVS for two years, and from now on it will also be available for LG TVs with WebOS 24 or newer from model year 2024. With the app, the TV image can be transferred to smart lights without Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box (test) – also from internal apps.
Lichtynchronization between tint and television
The Philips Hue Sync TV app, which is now also available for current LG TVs, allows Philips Hue lighting to be synchronized to match the TV picture. This works, unlike the HDMI sync box, not only with external image signals via HDMI from game consoles such as PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch or Microsoft Xbox Series X | S, but also with integrated smart TV applications such as Netflix or Disney +. 4K, 8K and HDR formats such as Dolby Vision are not a problem and can be used and remain activated as before.
The application costs 130 euros and only from MJ 24
However, the app is not free. As for Samsung TV, a price of 129.99 EUR or 2.99 euros per month is also seen on LG Smart TV. The Sync app in the LG-TV App Store is available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland starting today. As mentioned at the beginning, only LG Smart TVs will be supported with at least WebOS 24 from model year 2024. At Samsung, the app is compatible with Samsung QLED TVs from model year 2022 (from model Q60).
Also for using light synchronization via the TV app instead of the sync box, the illuminated lights and lamps can be arranged in their position in the room in the Philips Hue app so that the color of the image signal can be determined on which Luminaire in which intensity should be shown.
Prices for new OLED TVs for Germany
LG also announced today the launch of the Transparent OLED T from April for 49,999 euros in Germany, but also announced the prices of the LG OLED TV OLED, C5 and B5 of this year’s OLED TV.
