EA made four C&C classics to Open Source with Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Command & Conquer: Renegade, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Command & Conquer: Generals (including zero hours). The full source code for Gaming Classics is available under the GPL license on GitHub.

With the release of the C&C source codes, it is open to the community to make extensive adjustments and modifications. As early as 2020, EA released the source code for the MOD libraries for the Remastered Command & Conquer collection. The current release is mainly thanks to Luke “Cchyper” Feenan, as EA announced in an announcement. The C&C community member worked towards collecting, preparing, and finally providing all data for publication.

EA has also released archival material from Renegade and Generals on the official Command & Conquer YouTube channel.

More titles with Steam Workshop Support

In addition to releasing the games’ source codes, EA has also enabled Workshop support for other C&C titles so users can upload their claim to custom maps from the community that has been around for a very long time. The maps should now find an official, permanent home in the Steam Workshop.

C&C Reneec & Generals & Zero hourc & C 3 Tiberium Wars and Kane’s Wrathc & C Red Alert 3 & Uprizingc & C 4 Tiberian Twilight

A “C&C Modding Support Pack” is also available on GitHub, which contains Source XML, schema, script, shader and map files with Sage Engine.
