At the same time as the new Nuki Smart Lock Pro (test), Nuki is launching another electronic door lock: The Smart Lock Go. As the cheapest model, it provides all known functions for 150 euros, but is based on the broader design of the Nuki Smart Lock 4.0 Pro (test).
150 EUROS SMART LOCK with a Matt and a wire
However, the new Nuki Smart Lock Go has to do without the stainless steel look of the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra (test) and the Nuki Smart Lock Pro (test). The technology inside, especially the motor, is not identical to the new models, but comes from the Smart Lock 4.0 Pro.
The cheapest variant does not have to do without the thread and the material. Wlan and Bluetooth are now already integrated into the entry level model for the first time so that the user can choose which radio technology they want to use.
Remote access via subject or for a fee
However, buyers must unlock the full remote access options via Nuki with an additional purchase for 49 euros. In this case, however, this does not affect remote access via matter. Anyone who can integrate the smart lock enters a material environment, for example Apple Home, which can also operate the smart lock remotely even without activation, but not via the Nuki ecosystem and the Nuki app.
In the fourth generation of the Nuki Smart Lock, Nuki subsequently introduced remote access via Matter and Thread with an activation fee of 39 euros, it was free for the Pro.
If you switch from an old Nuki smart lock to the new Go, such as Pro and Ultra, the device configuration, functions and access permissions of the old Nuki Smart Locks in the app can transfer to the new smart lock.
Glue or screw without cylinder exchange
The alkaline batteries included in the scope of delivery can be replaced with a rechargeable power pack as with the previous Pro generation. This costs 49 euros. Like the fourth generation of the pro, the smart lock go is glued to the inside of the door or the locking plate with a supplied assembly plate or screwed when the cylinder is exceptional. In contrast to the Smart Lock Ultra, a cylinder exchange is not necessary for the new Go. The motor transforms the key from the inside via its registration, which is why the cylinder must be equipped with an emergency and danger function, so that it can always be closed from the outside with the inside of the key.
The new Nuki Smart Lock Go is now available in the Nuki Shop for 149 euros. As a color, the new model is exclusively white.
Press to unlock
Ten years ago, Nuki’s crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter threw the company’s smart locks. While the hardware with Go, Pro and Ultra has been reissued, another opening option is to be introduced in the anniversary year: press to unlock. At Nuki, Aliro sees it as a future-oriented uniform standard for digital keys. “We plan to launch an Aliro-compatible accessory with NFC support from the availability of the standard, which is compatible with all Nuki smart locks,” Jürgen Pansy confirms again.
Techastuce received information about this article from Nuki under NDA. The only requirement was the earliest possible publication time.
