From Samsung’s new CES and Gamescom, which have all been pre-ordered since last week, which hasn’t been a catch so far, the curved 49-inch Odyssey G9 (G91F) model has now been the first new arrival at a dealer (Amazon). This also goes hand in hand with other technical details. In addition to the Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) in 27 and 32 inches with 4K and 240 Hz on a QD-OLD panel and the Odyssey 3D (G90FX) with glasses-free 3D, Samsung also announced the wider availability of the 49-year-old Odyssey Great. The retail price is €1,159.
Odyssey G9 came as a surprise last week
While the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey 3D were presented at GamesCom and CES in January and last year, the announcement of the Odyssey G9 (G91F) came as something of a surprise, as the Samsung model had not yet been mentioned at any trade show. None of the monitor innovations can be found on Samsung’s German website, and even their presumed availability is not given until the G91F. Amazon and Samsung Sweden Lead G91F
As an “uncategorized product,” the 49-inch monitor can now be found in the price comparison. The only retailer that leads the G91F is Amazon, with an RRP of €1,159*. This comes with additional technical details, as Samsung has only listed the monitor as part of the announced availability, but has not yet accompanied it with a German product page. Samsung Sweden has gone a little further since this week, so further product details can be found there.

VA panel with 350 cd/m² and 2500:1
It was known that the G91F had abandoned OLED, but Samsung had yet to comment on the panel. The Swedish product page and Amazon suggest using a VA panel similar to the one-and-a-half-year-old Odyssey G95C (from €879). The 1000R curvature, 5120 × 1440 pixel resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, and 600 ppi display were already known. Now, there are details such as a typical brightness of 350 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 2,500:1, a color space coverage of 92% for DCI-P3, and a response time of 1 ms for GTG. The Swedish website also lists details such as DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-B upstream port, and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 downstream ports. The G91F can be adjusted by 120 mm in height, tilted, and rotated 15 degrees left and right.
