Monster Hunter Wilds: 10 Million Units Sold in First Month
Sales Reach Double-Digit Marks
Capcom announced today in a press release that the 10 million unit sales milestone has been reached across all platforms. The latest title in the Monster Hunter series was released on February 28th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and can be played together for the first time by players on all these platforms. Capcom states that the game with these numbers has established an internal record for sales within a month. Already at launch, the game boasted a very high player count on Steam, but was also punished by many players on Valve’s platform with negative reviews. The title has now gone from nearly 47% positive ratings to at least 59%, which is compared to cross-platform reviews from the specialized press, which, according to Metacritic, awarded an average of 89 out of 100 possible points, as well as the user score of 7.2 on Metacritic.
The reason for this is undoubtedly the technical implementation of the PC version: Monster Hunter Wilds requires extremely powerful hardware, without the player being offered particularly beautiful graphics in return. The technological test of the base game on computers with benchmarks created on 23 graphics cards at three resolutions reveals more details here. Another glimpse of the possible performance is shown by the community benchmark, which was already carried out at the beginning of February using the standalone tool, in which more than 400 readers participated and shared their system results.
First content update on April 4th
Monster Hunter Wilds will receive its first free content update this Friday, April 4th. In addition to the new monster “Müztsune,” already familiar from previous games in the series, a new multiplayer hub will also be introduced, allowing interaction with other players in a safe environment. Game Director Yuya Tokuda shared further update plans in a community post and also released an updated roadmap.
