One UI 7: Samsung rolls out Android 15 worldwide from 36 comments
The update recently released by Samsung to Android 15 and One UI 7 for older smartphones in the new Galaxy S25 series is apparently causing problems, so the company has decided to halt the worldwide rollout.
Devices should not be unlocked
Anyone who has not yet received the update to Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 for smartphones such as the Galaxy S24 series should currently be patient. A firmware issue has led to a global rollout halt. Samsung has yet to officially comment on the matter, but affected devices should no longer be unlocked “normally.” However, what this means in concrete terms remains unclear.
This was reportedly reported by the official Samsung forum in Korea. Forum users also noticed that Samsung has suspended the rollout. Initially, the issue was only with smartphones with Exynos processors, but the current status also affects Qualcomm models.
Care Products Pulled from Servers
Samsung not only paused the rollout to continue with the same firmware, but also pulled the firmware from all update servers worldwide.
Samsung is planning updates for many devices.
Samsung announced the Android 15 update with One UI 7 on March 18th for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The gradual rollout ran from April 7th until it was finally halted. Following the original schedule, updates for older devices such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S10 series were also scheduled.
According to the Korean Samsung Forum, further updates for the Galaxy Tab S9 and S8 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and 4, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and 4, Galaxy S21 and S22 series, and the Galaxy A35 and A34 were also planned for mid-range devices. Later in May, the Galaxy Tab S9 Fe / S9 Fe+, Galaxy A53, Galaxy A25 and A24, as well as the Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+ are expected to follow.
