OnePlus 13T: Small Flagship Smartphone with a Huge Battery 30 comments

OnePlus is offering the significantly smaller, but no less powerful, 13T compared to the 13. The new smartphone measures 150 mm in height and comes with a 6.32-inch display. However, it also features the current Snapdragon 8 Elite. In addition, the battery is slightly larger at 6,260 mAh than the flagship.
Initially available only in China
The manufacturer initially presented the 13T for the Chinese market, and information on wider availability is not yet available. OnePlus is also offering the regular 13T in Germany. The base model of the 13T with 12 GB/256 GB storage costs the equivalent of 410 euros in China, while the top model with 16 GB/1 TB costs around 545 euros. If the 13T comes to Germany, it should cost more.
150.8 mm high, 6.32-inch display
The new addition’s relatively compact dimensions are evident. The 13T measures 71.7 × 150.8 × 8.15 mm, making it slightly smaller than the 76.5 × 162.9 × 8.50 mm high 13T or other current smartphones. The AMOLED display is correspondingly smaller. At 6.32 inches, the panel boasts 1,216 × 2,640 pixels with a refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. The manufacturer specifies 100% color coverage for DCI-P3 and a typical brightness of 800 cd/m², with a maximum brightness of 1,600 cd/m². OnePlus 13T
Snapdragon 8 Elite as in the 13
Although the compact design compared to the 13T, the Elite 13T also uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 with two Prime cores and six Big Oryon 2 chipsets specially developed with ARM architecture. The SoC combines OnePlus with at least 12 GB of LPDDR5X and 256 GB of UF 4.0. OnePlus also offers variants with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB or even 1 TB of storage.
Larger 6,260 mAh battery
The battery is 6,260 mAh, which is an unusual amount for such a small smartphone and even exceeds the 6,000 mAh of the 13. There’s no wireless charging on the 13T, but it can be charged via USB-C (2.0 instead of 3.2) with a maximum of 80 watts.
Two instead of three cameras
With slightly less equipment, you have to get along with the cameras, of which only two instead of three come in the redesigned color, in the housing color (gray, pink, or black). The collaboration with Hasselblad has also been a victim of the red pencil for the cheaper model. 50 MP are offered, which are designed as wide-angle and telephoto, while the 13 also has an ultrawide angle camera. An image stabilizer (OIS) is available for the main camera, but is no longer available for the telephoto lens. The 13T can record videos in up to 4k60, but not in 8k30 and not with Dolby Vision.
OnePlus 13T
Multifunction button instead of alert slider
The 13T’s age, typical of many OnePlus smartphones, is no longer found in the 13T. Instead, the manufacturer uses a multifunction button similar to Apple’s iPhone action button, which can also be used for the loud and quiet function, but also for other functions and quick access. The chassis is also IP65 certified; in the standard 13T, the protection goes up to IP69.
