Since it’s difficult with the abundance of air coolers to test them all and thus make crystal-clear recommendations, Captain Mumpitz has compiled and listed various coolers that can form a recommended basis for beginners.
The introduction
Since not every PC user is an experienced screwdriver, Captain Mumpitz takes you by the hand and first explains step by step how to dismantle an already installed cooler.
Assembling the new one is generally straightforward, and fortunately, some newly sold coolers already have thermal paste applied, so there’s no fear for newcomers of applying too much or too little.

Boxed cooler or more? The boxed cooler, which is included in the CPU manufacturers AMD and Intel’s products, is an inexpensive alternative that, in any case, meets the minimum requirements. One shouldn’t expect too much from these designs.
In comparison, the size difference between the white Deepool AK400 and the black boxed cooler, which was originally intended for a Core i7 CPU with a 65W TDP, is originally intended, but reaches its limits with fewer CPU cores, such as a Core i3. Despite the copper core, it was the most powerful component in the system.

The division
This is relatively simple and depends on tower coolers, such as the Deepcool AK400 pictured above, which come in one form or another without RGB lighting and another with RGB lighting. Then there are the so-called top-mounted blueprints, in which the fan sits on the heat sink and is not attached to the side, as well as the low-profile cooler, such as the Intel boxed cooler pictured above.
The last two types offer the advantage that the case doesn’t have to be as spacious and the power supply around the CPUs is provided with a cool airflow, which is particularly advantageous for cheaper mainboards without heat sinks on these components. At the same time, Captain Mumpitz provides approximate prices, other brief tips for individual models, and, where available, links to product reviews. However, these can also lead to YouTube or English-language hardware pages.
