Thor Zone Tetra: ITX housing can be pre-ordered, RTX 5090 holds 13 reviews at 9 to 12.5 L

A sign of life from the Thor Tetra area showed up last fall. The ITX housing, which is placed in two variants with 9.0 and 12.5 liters, can be pre-ordered from April 28, 2025. Pre-orders are also limited to a total of 500 pieces. Prices for small configurable accommodations start from 259 euros.
Details for small hole housing
Compared to the first presentation last October, the Swedish manufacturer now gives more precise details about the housing, which is placed in two sizes. The smaller Tetra has grown from 8.8 liters to a net volume of 9 liters. The larger tetra r also increases to the minimum and measures 12.5 liters at commercial maturity. The strut and perforated design have been kept unchanged.
Pre-orders from April 28
Housing can be pre-ordered in a limited edition of 500 pieces tomorrow. Initially, only the Tetra R can be ordered at a price of 279 euros via the manufacturer’s store. Delivery is expected to take place in August 2025. The smaller Tetra is expected to follow with a price recommendation of 259 euros at a later date.
Accommodation can be individualized at several points. In addition to colors, carbon, graphite, pine, moonstone and chalk, a chrome or rampart base and front can also be selected. A PCIe 5.0 riser and lighting can optionally be ordered on hardware.

Precise regulations for hardware up to the RTX 5090
Both cases are based on the ITX motherboard standard and only allow M.2 hard drives. While the Tetra only allows SFX or SFX-L power supplies, ATX power supplies can even be installed in the larger Tetra R. The manufacturer doesn’t specify a maximum size, but it can be assumed that it’s limited to the smallest 160mm standard ATX size.
However, compatibility must be carefully checked for other hardware. Thor Zone specifies the size of each component. Explicit models are even listed for possible graphics cards and CPU coolers. The larger Tetra R even allows for various custom models of the NVIDIA RTX 5090, and both variants accommodate the Founders Edition of NVIDIA’s current flagship. Compatibility lists include the NVIDIA RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 TI, RTX 5070, RTX 4090, RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070, and the AMD PENDANT XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX 7800 XT, and RX 7700 XT.

Cooling
For cooling, both Tetras rely on a perforated outer casing that can be removed entirely. Product images still suggest aluminum. Internally, the series relies on air cooling. The CPU cooler in the upper case layout can protrude 70 mm in the Tetra R and 54 mm in the Tetra S. For the rest of the case, the Tetra R takes a 120 mm fan, which can be a maximum of 15 mm deep in the frame, which limits the possible selection of suitable fans to only 22 models. With the Tetra S, two 60 mm fans can be installed between the power supply and the graphics card. Here, the selection, with a total of 67 matching models, is much larger. As with graphics cards, Thor Zone also tested several CPU coolers for compatibility and lists a total of eleven models, five of which can be built up to a maximum height of 54 mm and thus installed in the smaller Tetra S.
