AMD Ryzen 5 9600X: First Ryzen 9000 Falls Below the €200 Mark

Already awarded a TechAstuce recommendation two weeks ago, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (review) has slipped below the €200 mark for the first time. This still only applies to the tray model, but the boxed variant is only a few euros more expensive in many stores when in stock. Other models are also cheaper.

It had already emerged that the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X has now become the price point for the series. Because the family, finally offering a processor for €200 or even less, has already been rejected, which is why they also faced criticism in the summer of 2024 due to the high entry prices. The fact that it is expected to last almost three quarters a year at the end is also due to the lack of competitive pressure from Intel, whose arrows are cast in the starting block. Even with Intel, something is only just passing through the price reductions, but the smaller of the new generation are still not recommended there.

The AMD Ryzen 5 9600X has dropped significantly in price, especially in recent weeks. Until the beginning of March, it was still on average €250, but since mid-March, the minimum price has continued to fall, breaking the €200 mark for the first time. Other Ryzen 9000 processors also fall in price

Other AMD 9000 series processors have recently been priced. The AMD Ryzen 7 9700X with eight cores and 16 threads is available as a tray processor for €283, while the boxed version without a cooler costs €317. The 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 9900X starts at €416, with the boxed version being even cheaper. The 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X also received a price drop; the boxed version starts at €569.

There’s only been some movement in the X3D gaming CPU solutions. The 9800x3D is still under €500; currently, the AMD costs €499 as a tray processor, and €510 as a boxed version. The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D costs at least €628, while the flagship AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D costs €779 or €799. The latter price remains unchanged, with prices almost matching the RRP—but they’re only available for a few weeks.
