RTX PRO 6000: NVIDIA‘s 96GB workstation graphics card costs 11,000 euros 50 comments
NVIDIA’s new, most powerful workstation graphics card, the NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 with 96GB GDDR7, has arrived in German online stores. There’s also a tangible starting price, as Nvidia isn’t offering a retail price: Proshop is asking for 11,000 euros, including VAT, and expects to be able to deliver from the warehouse starting May 8th. 96GB of VRAM in an NVIDIA workstation for the first time
The RTX Pro 6000 is based on the GeForce RTX 5090 (test) on the GB202-GPU, but uses more execution units (24,064 vs. 21,760 FP32-ALUS, +11%) at a 600-watt TDP (+25 watts) and offers 96GB of GDDR7 memory instead of 32GB for the first time.
The memory interface is still 512-bit wide, making three times more memory possible through two measures:
The RTX Pro 6000 is equipped with memory modules on both sides; two chips are each connected to a 32-bit controller using the clamshell process. Theoretically, this translates to 64 GB. Instead, 2 GB GDDR7 chips, like those in the GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU, are used on the 3 GB RTX Pro 6000 chips. This results in 96 GB.

The RTX Pro series graphics cards are not intended for gamers, but for workstations. “The new era of AI is here,” is the marketing claim on nvidia.de. So far, Nvidia has presented four Blackwell graphics cards from the RTX Pro series.
