Development of Anno 117: Pax Romana continues: the developer has sent out the first invitations for a technical test and is opening the next Anno-Party for larger, secret tests. Registration for future playtests is still possible. The title is expected to launch this year.

The first invitations have been accepted.

Players who have already signed up for an to Anno 117: Pax Romana directly with Ubisoft should see an email linked to their Ubisoft account in their inbox, as according to Ubisoft, invitations for the first technical test can now be found. More detailed information about the first playtest has not been shared. Since the entire test is being conducted under “strict secrecy,” no public information from streams or recordings can be expected. According to the privacy statement, participation in the playtest may already fall under it.

Registration still possible

If you still want to register for a preliminary cost-free sample of Anno 117, you can continue to do so. All that’s required is a Ubisoft account and the desired platform on which the test will take place. However, registration does not guarantee participation at this time; activation of the technical test has so far only been carried out in one wave, to which not all players have been invited.

Expect more tests

However, it can be assumed that there will be either further invitation waves for the technical test or a closed beta for registered players in the future—at least that was the approach for Anno 1800.

Release this year

Anno 117: Pax Romana doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but the developers have at least named “2025” as a target date. Until then, as with Anno 1800, a larger beta could follow, in which more players will have the opportunity to sniff around the before its release. The next installment in the series is also appearing for the first time at the start of both the Xbox Series X|S and 5 (Pro) consoles, allowing testing to take place there as well.
