Asseetek AIO: No longer patent protection for the integrated pump unit

Twenty years ago, Asseetek took all-in-one water cooling to the next level with a new idea: the pump was no longer integrated into the system separately, but was housed within the CPU cooler body. This was new and patented. The patent has now been filed in most countries.
Has Asseetek finally achieved its dominance?
From now on, it is now possible to develop and sell an all-in-one water cooler that uses a similar technical approach. Over the past two decades, this has only been the case in the exceptions: Asseetek has fought back against “imitators” and won many, if not all, cases. Cooler masters won in court in 2017.
But manufacturers who sell products worldwide don’t do much to achieve regional success in court. As a result, almost all all-in-one water cooling suppliers over the past 20 years have relied on Asseetek acquisitions. Others still had to accommodate the pump in the radiator or in a separate capsule on the cooler, which increased its height.
First alternatives to Calculx?
With this for patent US7971632B2, this should now change. Tom’s Hardware assumes that the first new AIOS with an integrated pump not from Asseek will already be presented in Taipei at Calpex 2025 at the end of May.
