Will there be any testing of the 5060 8GB before it launches on May 19th for $299 at 6 PM? Probably not. With the RTX 5060 TI 8GB (test), Nvidia and Partners only sampled the 16GB version, but with the RTX 5060 8GB, there shouldn’t even be a driver in advance. No press driver before launch

Igor’s lab and hardware are weak at X. Nvidia usually distributes not only itself or partners graphics cards under NDA before launch, but also provides a driver that already recognizes the new model—while public drivers cannot yet address the graphics card. At that point, partners only have rudimentary drivers that allow testing the graphics card for functionality, but cannot address games or applications. That depends on Nvidia.

But this time, Nvidia is not expected to deliver. This means that even editorial offices that should have already gotten a 8GB through other channels cannot publish a test. This would only be possible from the start of sales, even though the new public driver must inevitably support the RTX 5060.

Launch on Computex

Given that Computex 2025 begins one day after the market launch in Taipei, and most editorial offices travel to Taiwan in advance, the number of tests should also be limited immediately after the market launch.
