The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is only 5.8 mm thin and weighs only 163 g. In the first hands-on, it still left a solid impression. In terms of features, Samsung is moving between the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra. This also applies to the price of 1,249 euros. Pre-orders receive 512 GB of storage at the start.
So now it’s the currently thinnest Samsung smartphone that expands the Galaxy S25 series with a fourth member. The Galaxy S25 Edge can now be ordered in silver, black, and blue for €1,249 (256 GB) and €1,369 (512 GB). Pre-orders will receive the larger memory configuration for the price of the base model. The smartphone will be available in retail stores starting May 30th.
Slim smartphones were already in vogue
The Galaxy S25 Edge has a bezel depth of 5.84 mm; no other current flagship is currently thinner. However, this doesn’t mean that such slim smartphones weren’t available. At that time, the Motorola Moto Z (review) with its only 5.2 mm thickness was a special feature of active global manufacturers. What no longer fits in the case could be attached to the smartphone using external modules. This isn’t necessary for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge; even without extras, it offers a level of features between the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra.
Slim, but still stable
The 75.6 × 158.2 × 5.84 mm smartphone made a solid impression in the first hands-on. The narrow chassis, a Samsung product made from titanium, is of course still acceptable. But on site, you didn’t get the impression that you had to handle the smartphone carefully. Aside from the slim design, it was above the weight of only 163 g, which many immediately assume. With this, the Galaxy S25 Edge ranked on par with the regular Galaxy S25 (162g), but with the 6.7-inch display instead of the newcomer’s 6.2-inch display, the device felt subjectively weighted after touching. The size and weight of the Galaxy S25 Edge don’t want to match.
With the main camera of the Galaxy S25 Ultra
On the outside, however, the cameras that stand out from the device are outside the 5.84mm. Behind it is the main camera of the Galaxy S25 Ultra (review), i.e., a sensor with 200 MP, OIS, and F/1.7, and on the other hand, an ultra-wide angle camera with 12 MP and F/2.2, which, unlike the Galaxy S25 and S25+, has autofocus and therefore a macro mode. A telephoto lens is no longer included in the smartphone, as Samsung didn’t want to compromise the “bump” required for it. However, according to Samsung, a two- to three-fold zoom in the 200 MP sensor is possible with almost no loss of quality.
6.7-inch AMOLED display
Overall, the Galaxy S25 Edge is a step up in terms of features from the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra. For example, it also features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, which delivers 1,440 x 3,120 pixels with a very high pixel density of 513 ppi and up to 120 Hz. Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protects the front, which is designed by Corning to be particularly thin yet still stable. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite is also defined, which, as “for the Galaxy,” is allowed to climb the privileged cores of the CPU and the GPU. Samsung stated that the performance behavior is in line with the other models in the series, even under more stressful loads, although the slim design shouldn’t be a disadvantage. 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage are paired with the chip. The battery is the smallest in the series.
However, the Galaxy S25 Edge can’t quite keep up with the battery. At 3,900mAh, it’s at least below the Galaxy S25’s 4,000mAh capacity. Nevertheless, the manufacturer has ensured the daytime performance, with around 5 to 6 hours of battery life you can expect, he said. Similar to the smallest model to date, the Galaxy S25 Edge can be charged at up to 25 watts via USB-C, and the wireless store has also introduced new arrivals.
Samsung has granted updates for seven years.
Samsung hasn’t skimped on smaller features like the current Wi-Fi 7 or Ultra Wideband (UWB) support. IP68 protection is also identical to all other models in the series. The same goes for Android 15 with One UI 7, including all previous Galaxy AI features and Samsung Dex for use on the large monitor with a keyboard and mouse. Samsung also wants to provide the Galaxy S25 Edge with seven years of major release and security patch updates.

Thin and Easy could become a trend this year, with Samsung now the leading manufacturer with the Galaxy S25 Edge. Rumor has it that Apple should follow suit with the iPhone 17 in the fall. The Galaxy S25 Edge left a high-quality impression in practice, undoubtedly stemming from its stability. The slim design and, above all, the low weight relative to the screen size are plus points of the newcomer. There are almost no compromises to be made, without the third camera, and you have to be able to live with a smaller battery. And although the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ have already slipped under €1,000 and €900 since their market launch about five months ago, those interested in the Galaxy S25 Edge still have to pay the full price at the start.
