About a month after the release of the fourth beta, Google is releasing 16 Beta 4.1, a bug that has been fixed by numerous bugs in the internal section. Developers don’t have much time left to get ready, as Android 16 is expected to be officially released in June.

New Design Not Yet Included

Yesterday, Google unveiled the new Material 3 Expressive design for Android 16 and Wear OS 6, which is expected to reshape the operating system’s appearance with a slightly modified look in the future. At the same time, Google explained that this design will only be introduced with an update in the coming year—so the innovation is not yet included in the released beta. Only bug fixes, no new features

With this release, the developers have focused exclusively on removing the remaining bugs, so new features are no longer expected. In the Pixel models, all the additions, if Google still has anything in the pipeline, could be delivered in the coming months via feature drops as part of monthly updates.

In Beta 4.1, issues with video recording in combination with quadruple recording have been resolved. Audio output errors related to the native Android SDK have also been fixed, which should no longer occur. The misleading display of a permanently active has also been fixed. Additionally, the weather map should reappear in the new beta, and the issue of continually draining batteries on some devices should now be a thing of the past.

Release next month

A total of nine bug reports have been made in the current beta. The continued decline in issues suggests that the official release of Android 16 is getting closer. Yesterday, Google announced many details about the new version of the operating system as part of the Android: I/O Edition event, which was organized for this purpose, and more information will follow at Google I/O in the coming week. The final release is still expected in June. Topics: Android Android 16 Operating Systems Google Google I/O 2025 Android Smartphones Show: I/O Edition Source: Google
