The German Computer Game Prize 2025 awarded prizes in 15 categories with a total of 800,000 euros in prize money. Rooted games Keen was chosen as the best German game. Co-op Adventure Fiction from Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts has been recognized as a “Best International Game”.

German developers Keen Games released an action survival role-playing game in Early Access on January 24, 2024. So far, the game is only available via Steam and for the PC. The final release of Enshrassed takes place in 2025. Then, a release for consoles from Sony and Microsoft is also planned.

The survival role-playing game not only won the best German game which ended with 100,000 euros, but was also able to emerge from the stage in the best innovation and technology category. In this category, the studio waved an additional 40,000 euros as prizes.

Best studio and best international game

In the best international games category, Split Fiction was awarded by Hazelight Studios, although without an endowed prize field. Split Fiction is the title’s successor project, which is also only playable for two, it takes two. Like its predecessor in spirit, the game published on March 3, 2025 was able to convince the press and players. Split Fiction has been sold over 4 million times and has an “overwhelmingly positive” review with nearly 50,000 Steam reviews. With a Metacore of 91/100, it even received the predicate “must-have”, which only creates a few titles.

The jury of the German Computer Game Award 2025 honored Megagon Industries’ Berlin studio as Studio of the Year. The developers can expect more than €40,000 in prize money and were also able to win an additional €30,000 in the “Best German Game” category for Solitaire Mountains: Snow Riders. In the skiing game, players can navigate various slopes alone or in cross-platform multiplayer, and complete tricks, find secrets, or chase the best moments.
