Crucial uses calculx to present two new SSDs. The crucial T710 becomes the new flagship product for installation in PCs and notebooks. The M.2 uses the fast and efficient SM2508 controller for superior performance under . The crucial X10 is an external SSD with over 2,000 MB/s.

Crucial is also switching from Phison to SMI.

The SanDisk WD_BLACK SN8100 test has proven: with the SM2508 controller, a more than equal alternative to the Phison E26 is available. It is therefore not surprising that many vendors are now relying on this chip. And so, Crucial is also launching the T710 with SM2508, following the T700 (test) and T705 (test), both with Phison E26.

The promised performance figures of up to 14,900 MB/s read and 13,800 MB/s write are just as surprising as the maximum MAC of 2.2 million read and 2.3 million.

However, this is not a direct copy of the SN8100, as Crucial relies on memory from parent company Micron (G9), while Sandisk uses its own BICS8 flash. It remains to be seen whether this creates performance differences in certain scenarios.

With a storage capacity of up to 4 TB, the Crucial T710 is said to be available in July. A test on a computer will follow. The new cooler and LED lighting field may be available. This is not absolutely necessary with the economical controller. External X10 portable SSD with up to 8TB

The external Crucial X10 portable SSD with USB functions as a data storage device for on-the-go storage. It succeeds the Crucial X9 with a top speed of 2,100 MB/s. Crucial doesn’t hold back on storage capacity, starting the series directly at 4 TB. Other models even offer 6 TB and 8 TB of storage space. The SM2322, another Silicon Motion chip, serves as the controller, the successor to the SM2320 found in the Crucial X9 Pro and Crucial X10 Pro.
