Ubisoft has revealed the first gameplay scenes for Anno 117: Pax Romana in a trailer. The building returns, taking players to the Roman Empire. They build their Roman legacy and decide the price of freedom.

At the Emperor’s behest, players assume the role of a new governor, building and managing various provinces throughout the Empire. From the core country of Latium to the mysterious Celtic Auen of Albion, where no civilized Roman wants to be. Anno 117: Pax Romana will be released in winter 2025 for PlayStation 5, Series X|S, Prime Video, and PC via Steam, the Epic Store, and Ubisoft Connect. Lots of freedom of choice

The player can not only choose the location for their dream of becoming rich, but also decide how much they want to send in taxes to Rome. It is also up to the player to adopt the local Celtic culture or to impose Roman traditions on the people. It is important to reconcile the needs of the people with the demands of the emperor. Along with other institutions, trade and diplomacy can be worked together or—if the player prefers—militarily to join forces with them on land and at sea. The player should also be able to resist the emperor himself—but not without consequences. Ubisoft promises that every decision the player makes as governor should be important.

More details and major cities

Players build their provinces with unprecedented scope, richness of detail, and flexibility, Ubisoft explains. From children chasing dogs through the streets to thousands of people cheering on the show in the Colosseum, players can expand provinces from a single settlement to multiple eternal cities spanning multiple provinces.

Anno 117: Pax Romana is developed by Ubisoft Maypied and also features cross-platform progression.
