NZXT Housing: The New H9 Flow Goes Angular, and the H3 Flow Relies on Micro-ATX 7 comments

NZXT is releasing another housing for Calpex (subject) this year with the H9 Flow 2025. While the previous new editions were visually based on their predecessors, the new H9 Flow 2025 takes a different design path. The H3 Flow also introduces a new micro-ATX case.

Like the last one with the new editions H7 Flow (review) and H5 Flow (review), NZXT is now also reviving the H9, which was released as part of CES 2023, and is also innovating visually. NZXT H9 Flow 2025
While the “old” NZXT H9 attracted attention with up to three glass sides, the H9 Flow 2025’s design is different. The case rests on a five-way base, with the front right side offering an additional fan slot. The front and left sides continue to be made of tempered glass. The H9 Flow 2025 takes over the substructure from its smaller sibling, the H7 Flow, including the airflow recess and the appropriate fan positions. Overall, the H9 Flow 2025 can accommodate up to ten fans.
As usual, NZXT offers the case in several variants, which, as recently as last year, only differ in terms of the included fans and a controller. In terms of color, Matt Black and Matt White are available. Differences H9 FLOW (2025) H9 FLOW RGB (2025) H9 Flow RGB + (2025) Fan included 3 × 140 mm (model F140Q), RE. front

Rear connection and SSD flap
Internally, the new H9 Flow relies on a dual-chamber design in which the power supply and hard drives are hidden behind the motherboard carrier. The motherboards are supported by rear connections (rear connection). NZXT lists ASUS, GIGABYTE, and MSI. In addition to two 2.5″ and 3.5″ combo slots, the case also offers an internal flap that can accommodate up to four SSDs.
On the hardware page, the NZXT flagship features motherboards up to the E-ATX form factor. CPU coolers can exceed a maximum of 165 mm, narrowing the possible selection to only a few candidates. Regarding the graphics card, a reference is made to a possible radiator at the front. A maximum of 459 mm of development space is available for the graphics accelerator. With an AIO unit with a depth of up to 56 mm, the maximum graphics card length drops to 410 mm. Speaking of graphics cards, a vertical installation option is not available. To do so, an optional bracket must be used.
NZXT hasn’t announced availability yet, but it has announced pricing. The NZXT H9 Flow (2025) starts at around €180. The smaller H7 Flow has been initially priced at around €140. The H9 Flow RGB will be priced at around €220 and the H9 Flow RGB+ at around €300.
H3 FLOW ALS µATXABLE
With the Flow H3, NZXT also presents a completely new housing. The small micro-ATX housing acts as a smaller version of the Flow H5 and supports the optics and its features. The side ventilation grille is particularly striking. Optional fans attached to the power supply cover should provide the graphics card with cool air.
Unlike its larger siblings, the Flow H3 does not come in several variants. Only a rear fan is included in the scope of delivery. The Flow H3 also offers the option of installing main boards with rear connections, which is important to note since this feature is slowly spreading in the ATX segment and no boards in the micro-ATX segment have yet been realized. While the micro-slot with a height of up to 170 mm absorbs more CPU heat than its H9 sibling, the graphics card’s length must be taken into account for the front fans. The GPU can measure 377 mm without front fans, which would otherwise protrude into the fan mount. With the fan installed, the maximum graphics card length drops to 314 mm. The length must also be taken into account for the power supply length, which can only measure 185 mm.
