Samsung: New OLED TVs Officially Support G-Sync 20 comments
Samsung has announced that the manufacturer’s new OLED TV has received official certification for compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync. Starting with the S95F series, other 2025 models such as the S90F and S85F are expected to follow.
Samsung’s new OLED TVs may then bear the “Nvidia G-Sync Compatible” seal, and the GeForce driver for NVIDIA graphics cards must also be updated quickly so that Samsung TVs are controlled accordingly. So far, the list of TVs with G-Sync support is still very manageable; NVIDIA currently lists only four LG and three Panasonic models as “G-Sync Compatible TVs.”
In the press release, Samsung mentions that the flagship S95F will start, and that other models in the OLED range will be considered for 2025. As reported by Flat Panels HD, the S90F and S85F lines are expected to receive a “firmware update” that will enable G-Sync mode.
G-Sync is now officially supported by VRR
Samsung OLED TVs primarily support G-Sync for PC operation via VRR over the HDMI 2.1 connection. However, official certification is only now taking place.
It is unlikely that even older Samsung TVs will receive official G-Sync support.
