Blackwell to Braun: The Asus GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition measures 38.5 cm in length

Asus and Noctua have presented the fifth edition of the Noctua Edition for compute. Finally, the second-largest graphics card in the current series, in this case the GeForce RTX 5080, is seen with the alternative system. This initially uses three 120 mm fans, thus bringing it to a length of 38.5 cm.

For the first time with three fans

The three fans alone, the completely new NF-A12X25 G2 with a frame width of 120 mm, reach 360 mm. With the IO opening and the cover, the length reaches over 38 centimeters. For comparison: the ASUS ROG GEFORCE RTX 5090/5080 ASTRAL (test) is approximately 35.5 centimeters long.

By using the three particularly quiet fans, which Noctua will also be showcasing at Computex 2025 (and by omitting the fourth fan…), the graphics card should be quieter than the standard models in the ROG ASTRAL and TUF GAMING series. Using the new G2 fans should make temperatures three Kelvin lower at the same volume than would have been the case with the G1 fans. Significantly improved noise performance compared to the standard ASUS TUF and ROG Astral models.

The Noctua Edition also features a custom heatsink, which is said to have been optimally matched to the fans used via a “custom heatsink with a large vapor chamber and eleven 8 mm heatpipes.”

Using the brand new Noctua NF-A12X25 G2 should pay off with the same noise level compared to the first generation.

From Q3 to Retail

The Asus GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition is expected to be available during Q3. The partners did not mention an RRP at the show.

ASUS × NOCU TUA 5.0

The Noctua Edition of the GeForce RTX 5080 will be the fifth graphics card in this collaboration in Q3, which began in fall 2021 with the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition (review). This was followed by the Asus GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition (review) in spring 2022, the Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition (review) in spring 2023, and the GeForce RTX 4080 Super Noctua Edition in spring 2024.

Techastuce received information about this article from Asus and Noctua at Computex 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan, under NDA. There was no influence or obligation to report. The only requirement was the earliest possible publication time.
