A40, A50, and A60: Sharkoon’s First CPU Cooler in Two Colors in Four Series Reviews 19

Sharkoon is building an air cooler. The A40, A50, and A60 cover a wide range of areas. The new series offers a unique twin-tower design, a relatively flat design, black and white variants, and optional RGB lighting, which is combined with an infinity effect on the top of the cooler.
With the A40, A50, and A60 models, Sharkoon is expanding the air cooling range for the first time. The company has been offering all-in-one water cooling for a good two years in the form of the S series. The new series covers the entry-level and mid-range segment, addressing a whole range of requirements and areas. A60 is a top-of-the-line twin-tower cooler.
The A60 marks the upper end of the range, costing around €50. The twin-tower cooler is equipped with two 120mm fans, which spin between 500 and 1,800 rpm via a PWM signal. In the basic version, the Lamell tower is concealed behind a black cover. The ten-euro more expensive version, also available in a white RGB version, features a lighting element with an infinity effect, which complements the fan, which is then illuminated with 12 LEDs. In fact, only the front-facing fan, visible in the RGB model, also lights up.
Like all coolers, the A60 can be installed on a wide variety of unusual base systems. Only AMD‘s Threadripper TR4 platform and Intel‘s LGA775 socket are left out. The A40 and A50 are standard, narrow versions.
The Sharkoon A40 and A50 are both tower coolers. They share the slightly flatter lamellar tower, which increases the overall height to 153 millimeters, and differ only in the number of heat pipes. The A50 has five heat pipes for a TDP of up to 230 watts, while the A40 reaches 220 watts with four heat pipes. Both models rely on a single fan; there is no second mounting bracket. Prices start at €24 for the A40 or €29 for its RGB version. The A50 is available in A50 RGB starting at €34 and €39.
