With Adrenaline Edition 25.4.1, AMD is bringing an optional graphics driver update with FSR-4 support for six more titles. Support for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is also new. Other small improvements are part of the update.
Support for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
After nearly 20 years, Bethesda has released a remaster (News) of its then-hit The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The new implementation is based on the Unreal Engine 5 and offers contemporary graphics. This requires graphics driver support. With the optional 25.4.1 driver, AMD also provides proper hardware support for its own graphics cards in time for the game release.
Six FSR 4 Titles Received
Immediately after the release, AMD also provided FSR 4 support for the remaster. In addition, the company provides players of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Dynasty Warriors Origin, Civilization 7, and Naraka Bladepoint with The UpScaler. However, Windows 11 is a prerequisite for the latter, as according to AMD, FSR 4 is not supported in this title under Windows 10.
Bug Improvements
Topaz Photo AI users can look forward to the buggy implementation of Lighting Adjustment V1 and V2 for RX-9000 graphics cards. Causes of flickering when using FreeSync have been addressed. Amuse 3.0 (website) has several bug fixes and optimizations. 25.4.1 adds support for AMD-optimized software and models. Incorrect image generation when using RX-9000 graphics cards and poor performance of RX-7000 graphics cards when used with DirectML/Genai have been fixed. Additionally, a bug that caused reduced performance in World of Warcraft when used with RX 9000 cards has been fixed. The inability to recognize the integrated camera in Ryzen Ai Max (+) devices has also been fixed. Other bugs remain
As part of the driver release, there are still known bugs that have not yet been fixed. These include crashes in The Last of Us 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Memory leaks and associated crashes related to RX-9000 graphics cards and SteamVR can be avoided by disabling motion smoothing. Anti-LAG continues to cause problems in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Monster Savage. Frame errors in Battlefield games related to RX-7000 cards can also occur, as can crashes in Battlefield 1 related to a Ryzen 9 9950X with an RX 9000 graphics card.
