Alan Wake 2 Success: Remedy Comments on Max Payne Remake and Control 2

As part of the announcement of the companies’ figures, Remmedy Entertainment comments not only on the success of Alan Wake 2, but also on the development of the Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes and the highly anticipated Control 2.

Alan Wake 2 is now making a profit

According to the company, Alan Wake 2 has now recorded development costs and marketing investments. Since the end of 2024, the game earns profits by selling license fees. A positive development for the remedy, as the licensing fees the publisher gets from sales of older such as Control and Alan Wake now decrease based on age. Updates and expansions for Alan Wake 2 should continue to provide new revenue in the future.

In total, Remedy was able to generate sales of 11.7 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2024 – an increase of 13.1% compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year. And even though Remedy expects a further increase in sales for 2025, the development costs of the developers’ two most important games are also increasing: Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake and Control 2.

Max Payne remake is making progress

After the Max Payne remake 1 & 2 has been in full production since last summer, Control 2 will reach that status according to Remmedy in February. Remedy Classified Control 2 as an action RPG, which suggests that RPG Elements in Control 2 will make up a larger proportion of the game than in the first part.

The Max Payne remake, which is being developed in collaboration with Rockstar Games, is making good progress. With Rock Star, you are now coordinated by some key elements of the game. However, there is still no release date. The same goes for control 2, the development of which could take several years.

Max Payne Remake is a new united edition of the two shooting milestones Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2. The remedy is supposed to be based on its own Nortlight engine for the game. Max Payne 1 appeared in 2001 and attracted attention with the “time effect of bullets” and 7 graphic effects.

FBC: Firebreak appears as expected

Work on FBC: Firebreak, a cooperative multiplayer game that was presented in late 2024, is also progressing well. It will be released as planned this year and will be available for free with Plus.
