Alienware AW2725Q: Dell brings OLED with 4K UHD and 240 Hz to 27 inches 26 comments
There has never been an OLED monitor that is about 27 inches, 4K UHD and 240 Hz. Dell will soon have this combination with a high pixel density of 166 ppi in the form of the Alienware AW2725Q. This one uses a QD-OLED panel from Samsung.
OLED monitor with 166 ppi
It has been mentioned before and it is now certain: Alienware is launching one of the first 27-inch monitors with OLED, 3,840 × 2,160 and 240 Hz. Strictly speaking, Samsung’s QD-OLED panel measures 26.5 inches, which explains the 166 ppi.

Packaged in a new, almost all-black design with many curves, the typical key data of OLED monitors are offered. These include the fast response time of 0.03 ms, the near-infinity contrast ratio and the almost complete coverage of the DCI-P3 color space at 99%. The so-called Creator mode should also allow you to switch between the native DCI-P3 and sRGB color scheme. Individual gamma adjustments are also possible.

The video inputs are DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC and two HDMI, including HDMI 2.1 FRL. There is also a USB hub with three USB-A and one USB-C (downstream, 15 watts). The stand allows you to adjust the tilt angle and height as well as rotate the screen horizontally and vertically.

Dell also covers burn-in as part of the three-year warranty. To prevent this from happening, the image content is refreshed using software. In addition, a graphite layer between the layers of the OLED panel is intended to dissipate heat, which benefits the lifespan.

Price and availability
The US launch is scheduled for March, priced at $899.99. Europe should be served shortly after, in April 2025.
