AMD Gorgon Point: Mobile Strix Point Refresh Takes Over 34 Comments in 2026 with More Clock
AMD is planning a STRIX Point refresh for 2026 for notebooks. This is a higher-end model of the current generation, which AMD still divides into Strix Point and Krackan Point, although they are ultimately the same under the hood. Gorgon Point again combines the two.
AMD Krackan Point is currently moving into early notebooks as the smaller Strix Point, while refresh plans are known. As a result, Gorgon Point, which is being codenamed for the first time, is on a larger stage. This solution combines Strix Point in 2026 and the smaller Krackan Point branch under one roof. It’s nothing more than a minor refresh.
Gorgon Point is quickly explained: ZEN-5 CPU cores and an rDNA 3.5 GPU are combined with an NPU in an APU and sent out into the field. There are higher clock speeds here and there compared to previous solutions, but little or nothing is truly new.

Ultimately, Gorgon Point is the classic OEM-friendly gift. Since the FP8 socket is used further down the line, partners don’t have to change, but can likely announce the name AMD Ryzen AI 400 as “new products.”

Among these, Hawk Point will remain in the portfolio as a solution in 2026. AMD Hawk Point was already a refresh and was renamed this year from Ryzen 8000 to Ryzen AI 200. Essentially, Hawk Point is known as a Phoenix that was introduced in early 2023. In 2026, this ZEN-4 + rRNA-3 solution will finally enter its fourth year.
