AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT: Launches May 18th – and for many Computex partner cards 30 comments
A sunny launch date is rare for a new product, but this fits in with a trade show: May 18th marks the arrival of the Radeon RX 9060 XT. The first events are already taking place for various companies that don’t want to frolic in Taipei’s showrooms, but use hotels. Because Computex 2025 is growing.
With this knowledge, the launch date now appearing in the rumors is anything but unlikely. Because at the latest, when the trade show floor is completed on May 19th and Computex 2025 opens its doors on May 20th, partner cards would be visible everywhere. AMD is therefore simply holding off on the nomination on May 18th and at least has a bit of a hand in its hands before everything is revealed by partners.
However, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE, which has recently been rumored, is expected to be delayed somewhat. According to rumors in Chinese forums, it should appear in the third quarter at the earliest, perhaps only in the fourth quarter.
Ultimately, it remains debatable how much of the existing rumors are true. The air for such a solution would be quite thin between the 9060 XT and 9070 XT, especially regarding pricing. This could quickly make one or the other solution redundant. AMD is expected to sell NAVI-48 chips running as the 9070 XT at a higher price anyway, or soon as the Radeon Pro with 32 GB. If the market is then largely saturated with 9060 and 9070 and the prices normalize, the gap for a GRE can be found in the fall.

AMD and Intel were only a small presence at Computex.
Meanwhile, AMD’s overall Computex appearance in 2025 appears manageable. Taiwan-based industry figures report that AMD and Intel are not planning major appearances or keynotes, even with the departures and product announcements, which should be clear from both. However, they are represented on-site, as meeting with partners such as suppliers, ODMs, and OEMs is part of the business for both. Intel’s CEO is also on the road for Calpex Week in Taiwan.
