Android 15: One UI 7 Arrives on the Galaxy Tab S9 Fe (+) and Galaxy A54
Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 15 update, including the in-house One UI 7 for the Galaxy Tab S9 Fe (+). At the same time, the Android version for the Galaxy A54, at least from the South Korean manufacturer, is now also making its way into the mid-price segment. Thus, the premium tablets launched in Germany with Android 13 and One UI 6.1 will also receive the second major operating system update, and thus, like the latest Samsung models, will receive the high-priced Android 15 and One UI 7. The Tab S9 Fe+ has a size of 3.6 GB and includes the security patch for April 2025.
The update brings various innovations, including a revised One UI interface, new app icons, widgets, and faster access to Google’s Gemini chatbot for mid-range tablets. According to Samsung’s update schedule, both models should also receive at least two other major Android versions.
One UI 7 reaches the mid-range
After Samsung equipped almost all high-end models with Android 15 with the current version, which quickly replaced it, the focus is now on the mid-range. Starting here is the Galaxy A54 (review), which has been available in Germany since the end of March 2023, and which also started with Android 13 and One UI 6.1. Firmware version A546SK9DYD7 has 3.5 GB of storage and also includes the security patch from April 2025.
As always: South Korea first, the rest later.
As with previous releases, OTA (“Over The Air”) updates are distributed in South Korea before gradually rolling out to other countries. Since the new firmware is also delivered to the waves, it may take a few more days before all owners of the devices in question have received a corresponding notification for the update. Alternatively, the update can also be used manually using the ODIN software in the Galaxy S9 Fe (+) tab or Galaxy A54.
