Android 15 & One UI 7: Samsung rolls out the update worldwide for the Galaxy A55
About two weeks after Samsung began rolling out Android 15 and its own One UI 7 interface for the smartphone sold in South Korea as the Galaxy Quantum 5, the update is now also reaching users outside of its home market. Europe is starting, with other regions expected to follow soon after.
South Korea again, then the rest of the world
The mid-range smartphone, presented in March of last year, only received the current version of the operating system for a short time after its predecessor, the Galaxy A54, which had already received the update the previous week. The firmware update with build number A556BXXU7BYDB is 3 GB in size and, unlike previous Android 15 updates with a 7-UI arena, contains the security patch dated May 1, 2025.
Since the update is being rolled out again (“over the air”) and in multiple waves, it may take a few days for all Galaxy A55 owners to receive a corresponding installation notification. Alternatively, Android 15 can also be downloaded manually using the ODIN software.
