Android 16 Beta: There are bigger issues on the Pixel 7 21 comments

In late January, Google released Android 16 Beta 1 for Pixel 6(a) in-house Pixel smartphones. On Pixel 7 series smartphones, users repeatedly report problems with unwanted reboots that happen randomly, but very often when talking.
Error not isolated case
According to previous knowledge, the error, which several users reported to Google and also assigned high priority to Google, does not occur among all users, concerns with Pixel 7A, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro but basically different models of the Pixel 7 Series. On the other hand, the error does not seem to appear on other models of the Pixel family, there are no corresponding reports. Google has not yet released a solution for the error already registered immediately after the start of the beta phase.
Users report that the Pixel 7 keeps restarting when you talk to it on the phone. One user reports that in 4 out of 5 cases the smartphone restarted during a phone call. Sometimes the calling lists would have been deleted.
The issues therefore also illustrate that a beta version, even if publicly released to all users, may contain serious errors and use at your own risk.

To install Android 16 Beta 1, sign up on the Google beta program website and register your own smartphone for the beta.
Google plans to release a total of at least four beta versions of Android 16. Beta 2 is still expected to be offered in February. It is assumed that the final version will be released in the second quarter, i.e. June at the latest.
