With the Agon Pro AG246FK6, AOC has brought a 600 Hz monitor to the market in China. It’s now available for 6,499 yuan, which translates to approximately €827. This is currently the highest refresh rate offered in monitors. You have to downsize the panel, resolution, and size. 24-inch TN panel with Full HD
Since the AOC Agon Pro AG246FK6 only offers Full HD resolution at 1920 × 1080 pixels on its 24-inch display, it uses a TN panel that offers poorer image quality than IPS or OLEDs, and generally worse. The AG246FK6 offers HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC so it can’t implement the monitor’s refresh rate in Full HD. AMD FreeSync supports anti-tearing. The “fast TN panel” response time, AOC claims, is 0.3 ms. With the MBR-Sync function, FreeSync can be combined with an anti-motion blur mode.
500 cd/m² bright and delta e
Equipped with VESA DisplayHDR-400 certification, the display’s maximum brightness should be 500 cd/m². The manufacturer specifies color accuracy at Delta E under 2, which would be extremely good for a TN panel in a gaming monitor. The SRGB color space is covered at 99%, while DCI-P3 remains at 90%, according to AOC. PIP and PBP functions allow for simultaneous use of multiple systems on the monitor, which also features four USB ports.
RGB and Ergonomics
The monitor has RGB lighting on the back, and the base allows for 130 mm height adjustment, 28-degree tilt, 60-degree rotation, and a pivot function. Thanks to a VESA mounting (100 x 100), the base can also be exchanged for a matching stand. A headset holder can be removed from the monitor housing.
600 Hz from Benq available in Germany
In Germany, the Benq Zowie XL2586X+ already has a 600 Hz monitor with similar specifications in stores. It currently costs from 1,179 euros. MSI also showed such a gaming monitor at CES 2025 in Las Vegas with the MSI MPG 242R X60N, but no release date or price is yet known.
