With the Camera Hub G5 Pro, Aqara’s first outdoor surveillance camera is now available in stores. The security camera with many functions also serves as a smart home center for outdoor areas with hardware, wire and CIGBEE support.
Clear recordings even in the dark
The Camera Hub G5 Pro is said to combine “exceptional image quality, advanced AI features, and seamless smart home integration” for added security. The Smart Home Camera is gray and white in color and features 2K Quad HD recordings with true color night vision. It is intended to ensure that “crystal images” are delivered even on the darkest night.
The G5 Pro features 4 MP (1520p), f/1.0 resolution, a 1/1.8″ cooled graphics sensor, and a 133° field of view. A dimmable headlight and 100 dB speaker provide additional security by turning off intruders and enabling two-way audio communication.
AI on the camera itself
Equipped with internal on-device AI on an NPU built, the camera features on-device AI object recognition and noise recognition and alerts owners of potential threats such as people or package theft. It can recognize faces and vehicles and perceive people, packages, animals and obstacles on the camera lens.
If the event is recognized, it can trigger automation even without an Internet connection to deter intruders. Additionally, the G5 Pro works with common smart home platforms and supports RTSP, so it can be integrated with users’ existing security systems.
G5 Pro as a matter controller
The G5 Pro also serves as a multi-protocol hub for the outdoor area and is intended to expand the range and reliability of the smart home network. As a Matter Controller, Thread Boundary Router and Aqara Matter Bridge / Zigbee-Hub, you can not only connect and manage AQARA accessories, but also Matter devices from third-party providers.
Apple HomeKit Secure Video and NAS Backups
The G5 Pro can seamlessly integrate with Apple Home and is one of the few HomeKit secure video cameras that support PoE and True Color Night Vision. It also streams to smart displays compatible with Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings. With added RTSP support, the G5 Pro can stream over a local network of third-party clients such as Home Assistant and is compatible with RTSP-enabled video servers.
It supports end-to-end encryption for live and recorded videos. EMMC memory can be synchronized with cloud storage services from AQARA and ICloud and also supports local NAS system backups.

IP65 from -30°C to 50°C
The camera has weatherproof designs according to IP65 – therefore is dust-proof and protected against jet water – and can withstand temperatures from -30°C to 50°C.
Pricing and availability
The G5 Pro is available in both a POE and Wi-Fi version (2.4 and 5 GHz). The PoE version of the G5 Pro costs 199.99 euros*. The WLAN version, on the other hand, is already available for 179.99 euros *.
