With the Aqara Room Thermostat W100, the Aqara Hub M100, and the Aqara Camera Protection Set Y100, three new smart home components from Aqara are now available in Europe. The new components also support the cross-manufacturer‘s smart home standard Matter.
Aqara Room Thermostat W100: Measurements and Controls
The Aqara Room Thermostat W100 is a climate sensor that measures temperature and humidity and also acts as a smart home remote control. With dimensions of 86 x 86 mm, wall mounting and configuration of the W100 is possible. The integrated LCD display shows current indoor climate data and can also display local weather information or measured values from another AQARA sensor. Three individually programmable buttons allow you to control up to nine different actions—for example, adjusting heating profiles, activating scenes, or activating devices. With support for Zigbee, Thread, and Matter, the W100 can be seamlessly integrated into common smart home systems such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Home Assistant, and Homey Intregate, even if you don’t have an Aqara Hub.

Aqara Hub M100: Small headquarters with USB
The Aqara Hub M100 is a particularly compact smart home hub, measuring only 108 x 30 x 8 mm. The USB A port for power and data allows direct connection to power banks, outlets, PCs, or routers for easy setup. Equipped with a hinge, the hub can be adjusted 210 degrees for individual alignment.
As a multi-protocol hub with Matter Bridge, the M100 supports simultaneous connection to up to 20 Thread devices and 20 Aqara CigBee devices. The hub also offers the recently introduced expanded Matter Bridge functionality, which also leverages AQARA devices for third-party platforms—this includes, for example, the in-device AI detection in AQARA cameras and the creation of the FP2 presence sensor. The M100 can also perform local automation, improving response times and ensuring smart homes continue to operate in the event of an internet outage.

Aqara Camera Protection Set Y100
The AQARA Camera Protection Set Y100, on the other hand, is a pre-configured starter kit for home surveillance. The focus is on the Camera Hub G3 with 2K video surveillance, complemented by three Zigbee sensors: the door and window sensor, the P1 motion sensor, and the T1 vibration sensor. All components are already coordinated, so setup should take less time. In addition to video surveillance, the Camera Hub G3 in this set acts as a home for the Zigbee sensors and, if necessary, provides deterrence with a loud alarm tone. In the event of suspicious activity, the camera automatically starts recording and sends push notifications to the user’s smartphone.
