Asus introduced its GeForce RTX 5090 Astral in a special gold edition as a “tribute to the rapid development of the Middle East.” It is now known that 6.5 grams of real gold are used. The prices for the special edition are disproportionately high.
With 6.5 grams of fine gold
For the first time in February, TechAstuce reported on the ASUS Golden GeForce RTX 5090. The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab OC Edition features gold on the front and back, as well as the slot cover, and even the heatsink and heatpipes resemble gold. “Dhahab” (ذهب) means “gold” in Arabic, hence its name.
At that time, it remained unclear whether real gold was also used. This is the case. Because Asus added a certificate to the special edition for the Middle East, certifying 6.5 grams of 999 fine gold. At the current exchange rate, this amount is worth 611 euros.

The Golden RTX 5090 costs so much
However, regional collectors will have to pay significantly more for the Golden graphics card than the equivalent ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, which costs 2,800 euros in Germany, plus the price of gold. Middle Eastern dealers are asking for prices ranging from $6,700 to $10,600, reports Videocardz. This currently translates to prices between €6,000 and €9,500. This collector’s item is therefore at least twice as expensive as the less pompous standard version.

With Jensen Huang’s signature as the only one
However, the release of the ASUS Golden graphics card, signed by the CEO of NVIDIA, is expected to have an even higher collector’s value, as it is expected to be auctioned off for a good cause.
Golden RTX 5080 Rumors
It remains unconfirmed that Asus is also planning a ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 Dhahab edition.
