Asus today presents new monitors from the ZenScreen family, focused on design and entertainment. The ZenScreen Smart MS32UC, which is reminiscent of an Apple display, offers 4K UHD and Google TV on 32 inches. The ZenScreen MB27ACF is slim on a thin base, while the ZenScreen MB169CK is even easier to carry.

The Asus ZenScreen Smart MS32UC displays its 3,840 × 2,160 pixels on a screen diagonal of 31.5 inches. The pixel density is therefore 140 ppi. The display is an IPS LCD, which offers advantages in terms of viewing angle stability and color representation. In the latter discipline, the DCI-P3 color space should be covered by 98 percent. The DisplayHDR-400 certification indicates rather normal brightness values, but the detailed technical data sheet is still missing.
The monitor is primarily intended for the playback of entertainment media and is equipped with two 5-watt front speakers from Harman Kardon, which explains the relatively wide bottom edge.

With integrated Google TV and more than 10,000 compatible apps as well as a remote control, the Smart TV functions are offered. The integrated cross-platform live streaming app is intended to enable simultaneous playback from up to four online platforms at the same time. The required Internet connection can be established via the integrated WLAN at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Bluetooth 5.2 is also supported.
With support for Miracast and Chromecast, content can be played from external devices without cables. For example, if a laptop is connected to USB-C via cable, it receives up to 90 watts of USB power. Asus also talks about DisplayPort HDMI and a USB hub.

Above all, the small footprint required on the desk is a special feature of the ZenScreen MB27AC. The “C-clamp holder”, i.e. a clamp attachment for the desk top, requires very little space, but limits the place of use to the edge of the table. The partition support reveals that the use of the open plan office is also considered.

The current 27-inch monitor is very thin at just 5.4mm at its thickest point and is said to weigh less than 3kg. It uses an IPS panel of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels and 100 Hz. HDMI, USB-C of 70 watts, a headphone output and an integrated 2.1 system with subwoofer are also mentioned by the manufacturer.

Although there is no information here yet, the ZenScreen MB169CK will be much lighter. This is a representative of portable monitors with a 15.6″ screen from the laptop sector. The 1920 × 1080 pixel IPS panel is equipped with a “360° kickstand” for mounting. This can be used. The small monitor can be used in portrait or landscape format and at different tilt angles. If necessary, the stand can be replaced with a wall mount. The connections are two USB-C and one. mini-HDMI and a headphone jack.
Price and availability to be determined
Asus has yet to reveal exactly when and at what prices the ZenScreen monitors, which have only just been introduced so far, will be available. But that could change in a few weeks, as the manufacturer is planning a closer presentation for CES 2025 in January.
