The premonitions and rumors of recent days and weeks have proven to be correct: Apple This weekend, the iPhone SE of 2022 as well as the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus were not only withdrawn from its own sale, but the pages of Information from the EU country homepage has also been removed. There is now no trace of the iPhones.
iPhone models will now only be sold outside the European Union. On the American side of Apple All three models are still available and can be delivered at short notice.

Only two series of iPhone models available
This now means that only iPhone 16 (Plus), iPhone 16 Pro (Max) and iPhone 15 (Plus) are sold in Germany and other countries like France, Spain and Austria. The cheapest iPhone in the EU now starts at 849 euros.

However, devices that have been removed from official sales are still available from third-party providers, as the iPhone SE price comparison in red shows. But prices are already rising and many stores have longer delivery times, meaning there is also a risk of an imminent end.
Unusual approach for the group
Apple has not yet commented on the context. Although this is a common procedure in the group, older products usually only disappear when the successor is introduced – or the product line is discontinued.
But that is not the case here either: on the one hand, the iPhone manufacturer has not yet presented a successor to the third generation iPhone SE and, on the other hand, according to rumors, the next generation would already be in the starting blocks for spring 2025. The iPhone SE 2025 would be the next Apple Intelligence also imitates the design of the iPhone 14. The iPhone SE is probably catapulted forward by almost a decade in terms design, because it still looks like an iPhone 8 or an iPhone 6 from 2014. A sudden shutdown of the iPhone SE therefore does not seem plausible.
Broken due to USB-C requirement?
In this regard, the end could be due to the European Union’s new USB-C requirement, which came into force on Saturday. The new edition also applies in Germany and aims to ensure uniform charging socket in smartphones and many other devices such as speakers. However, already released devices can still be sold; only new models should appear with USB-C – the iPhone SE 2022 and iPhone 14 (Plus) can therefore continue to be sold.
In this regard, it is unclear why Apple Models are already withdrawn from the market, on the one hand the successors are already in the starting blocks, on the other hand it is unusual for Apple to withdraw its own products from its own store before introducing the successor.
