Control’s third-person shooter Ultimate Edition from Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment will receive a free content update with version 1.30. In addition to bug fixes, new outfits, and a new mission, PC players will receive new, modern graphics options such as DLSS, DLAA, and HDR, as well as higher resolutions.

Additional Content

Three additional outfits are being added with patch 1.30. All players can equip these three outfits, which were previously available exclusively for pre-orders, at a checkpoint in the Central Executive Sectors area. Astral Dive Autactical Response Gear Ban Response Gear

There’s more than just a look to the additional mission “Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experiment”—it features a voiceover by Hideo Kojima. This mission was also exclusive content, this time for the PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe Edition. The mission can be launched if Dr. Tokui can be picked up in the Sector of the Extraordinary Lab.

New Graphics Options

Update 1.30 brings the more than four-year-old game to a more up-to-date technical status. The developers are adding DLAA and DLSS in version 3.7. Shadow resolution under DLSS has been fixed, and the typical film grain effect has been added to DLSS Super Resolution. DLSS can now be used in all resolutions, and texture quality has been increased, for example, under DLSS in Performance mode.

Following the patch, the controller now also supports HDR and monitors with an extra-wide aspect ratio (48:9) and an appropriate FOV setting in the camera settings. Color depth has been increased from 8-bit to 10-bit under SDR. Automatic detection of the installed graphics card should now work better and automatically select 11 or 12 accordingly. The game now also supports resolutions higher than Ultra HD and now has a new ultra setting for ray tracing. There are also some bug fixes for texture streaming and ray tracing.

Content Changes and Bug Fixes

In addition to the content and technical innovations, the patch also fixes some smaller bugs and crashes, as well as an audio issue in cinematic cutscenes and the credits. Console players will have to wait a little longer.

The update has been available on PC via , the Store, and GOG (currently available for €8) since March 10th. For consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, the update is also expected to arrive in the near future.
