The Corsair 9000D RGB Airflow super tower presented at Computex is now available. The recommended retail price for the 150-liter case is around 575 euros. Equipped with extendable fan rails, the case can accommodate up to 18 120 mm fans and also offers space for two motherboards.
A housing colossus now available
The Corsair 9000D RGB Airflow replaces its direct predecessor, the Corsair Obsidian 1000D, with similar dimensions and features. Having grown by just a few millimeters, the new 9000D weighs around five kilos more. It is available from today in white and black. The recommended price of just under 575 euros is taken up by retailers, even if they are still poorly represented.
Model maintenance in detail
As with the Corsair Obsidian 1000D, the 9000D also continues to use an extendable rail system for the fan mounts on the front and in the lid area, called “Infinirail”. Up to eight 120 mm fans can be mounted here. Push-and-pull operation with up to 32 fans in the lid and front is also possible. Alternatively, two 200 mm or three 140 mm fans can also be screwed on. As a further highlight, the case offers the option of mounting another ITX system on the power supply panel below the standard ATX system.
While the 1000D offered a glass wall on the right and left sides of the case, the 9000D RGB Airflow only has it on the right side. For this purpose, three additional 120mm fans or a corresponding radiator can be installed behind the motherboard bracket. As the product images show, the fans in the lid apparently need to be omitted.
Although the abbreviation “RGB” in the name suggests otherwise, the case comes with no lighting other than the illuminated I/O panel. However, a pre-installed iCUE hub can control up to 23 additional iCUE Link devices.
